New York주 Brooklyn에서 태어난 Arthur Leipzig는 1942년 Photo League에서 photography를 공부한 후 Newspaper PM에서 staff photographer로 5년간 일을 하면서 그의 첫번째 photo essay가 된 Children’s Street Games을 완성합니다

그 후 International News Photos에서 잠시 머물다 freelance photojournalist가 되어 세계 곳곳을 여행하면서 The Sunday New York Times, This Week, Fortune, Look, Parade 등과 같은 정기 간행물에 기고하였고, Long Island University에서 학생들을 가르치다 현재는 명예교수로 있습니다.
