Leo Fuchs(1929 – 2009)는 motion picture producer로 거의 20년(1944 -1965) 가까이 활동하면서 50~60년대 film icon(Audrey Hepburn, Paul Newman, Gregory Peck, Sean Connery, Shirley MacLaine, Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, Cary Grant 등)들의 기념비적인 작품을 남겨놓은 작가로 2001년 Los Angeles에서 개최된 Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the Oscar academy)에서 “Exodus,” “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “The Nun’s Story,” “Cape Fear,” “Lover Come Back.” 등의 유명한 영화작품에서 얻은 사진집 “Shooting Stars: Photographs by Leo Fuchs,”로 회고됩니다.

Austria의 Vienna에서 태어난 그는 1939년 가족과 함께 New York으로 건너와 Globe Photos에 견습생으로 들어가고, 곧 유럽과 북미의 movie sets에서 인정받는 photographer가 되어 magazine photographer로서 Life, Look, Paris Match, Bunte 등에 기고하게 됩니다.

Latvia 태생의 portrait photographer인 Philippe Halsman(1906 ~ 1979)은 1928년 부친과 Austrian Alps로 떠난 여행중 부친이 심각한 머리부상으로 사망하게되고, 밝혀지지 못한 정황으로 인해 4년간 감옥에 복역하게 됩니다. 그러던중 Albert Einstein, Thomas Mann 등의 구명운동으로 1931년 풀려나게 되어 France로 떠나 거기에서 portrait photographer로서 명성을 얻게되고, 그후 미국으로 건너가 Salvador Dalí, Albert Einstein, Bob Hope, The Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Marilyn Monroe, John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Alfred Hitchcock, Judy Garland, Winston Churchill, Pablo Picasso 등을 카메라에 담게 됩니다.

Alfred Hitchcock의 ‘Psycho’ 포스터 혹은 Otto Preminger 감독의 ‘The Man with the Golden Arm’ 포스터 디자인으로 유명한 Saul Bass(1920 ~ 1996). 그는 Brooklyn College에서 공부할 당시 Gyorgy Kepes라는 헝가리 출신의 그래픽 디자이너로 부터 László Moholy-Nagy의 Bauhaus style과 Russian Constructivism에 대해 소개받고 공부하게 되는데 이 때의 영향이 그의 작업의 결과물에 고스란히 나타나게 됩니다. 학업을 마친 그는 뉴욕에서 L.A.로 이주하여 그곳에서 Alfred Hitchcock, Otto Preminger, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese 등 수많은 영화감독과 일을 하게되고, 인상깊은 영화 포스터 디자인 및 film title sequences를 제작하였고, 그 밖에도 유명 기업의 아이덴티티 작업에도 참여하여 AT&T, Continental Airlines, Dixie, Geffen Records, Minolta, United Airlines 등 눈에 띄는 로고를 디자인하게 됩니다.
